LANGEVIAX PROCEDURE GUIDE

Injectables / LANGEVIAX

“Skin booster” is a marketing category rather than a complete treatment specification. First identify the exact substance, intended outcome and evidence for the proposed injectable.

Injectable and topical HA are different

HA binds water, but placement within the skin differs from a surface moisturizer in both effect and risk. Formulations vary in cross-linking, added ingredients and tissue behaviour. Other substances may also be marketed as boosters. This page concerns HA skin-quality injections; it does not validate every product carrying that label or treat injected HA as equivalent to a cosmetic serum.

Which benefits were actually measured?

In a 60-person trial, measured hydration improved without a significant elasticity difference. Another small, 30-person trial found improvements in selected fine-line and skin-quality measures; some authors worked for the manufacturer. These findings do not establish lifting, eczema treatment or equivalent results across products. Ask separately about instrument-measured change and improvement that patients can actually notice.

Dryness deserves assessment first

Tightness, scaling and stinging may reflect barrier damage, eczema or product irritation. An injection should not replace diagnosis and tolerable basic care. Active inflammation, infection, severe allergy or previous filler reactions need assessment before treatment. Discuss pregnancy, breastfeeding, medicines and earlier injectables. The word “hydration” does not make an invasive procedure risk-free or medically necessary.

Define a narrow, measurable goal

Choose a defined concern such as selected fine lines or perceived dryness instead of “complete rejuvenation.” Request the substance, all additives, Canadian authorization and exact product indication. Compare the proposed session plan with research on that preparation and ask about maintenance costs. Take consistent baseline photographs and agree in advance what change would justify continuing treatment.

Early bumps are not the endpoint

Injection-site redness, small elevations, tenderness or bruising can occur; duration depends on product and method. Ask the clinic what course is expected and when to call. Do not squeeze persistent or painful bumps. Leave an appropriate assessment interval before another procedure and resolve unexpected reactions first. Another patient’s recovery timetable is not a safe substitute for your instructions.

Choose products by skin condition

For closed, intact skin, discuss a gentle cleanser and fragrance-free moisturizer with ingredients such as glycerin or dimethicone. HA in a serum does not make that serum necessary after injection. If the skin stings or is inflamed, seek advice before introducing exfoliants or retinoids. Obtain specific guidance on sunscreen and makeup over open or inflamed injection sites.

A gentle-sounding name does not remove risk

Unusual or increasing pain, white, grey or blue skin, or visual changes after injection need immediate assessment; call 911 for visual loss, stroke symptoms or breathing difficulty. Expanding warmth or redness, drainage and persistent nodules require prompt clinic contact. Self-started anti-inflammatory or antibiotic products cannot substitute for diagnosing infection or impaired blood supply.

Frequently asked questions

Is a booster the same as a volume filler?

Both may contain HA, but formulation, goals and indications can differ. Sharing an ingredient does not establish equal effects or risks.

Does higher measured hydration mean younger skin?

Hydration is one specific outcome. Lines, laxity and patient satisfaction require their own assessment; an instrument reading does not establish all three.

Section sources: Randomized trial · HA injection and skin hydration (2020; 60 participants)

Is it worthwhile for mild dryness?

First review basic care and the cause of dryness. Value depends on additional noticeable benefit relative to cost, risk and repeat treatment.
