Injectables / LANGEVIAX
PRP is prepared from your own blood, but “natural” does not answer whether it works or is safe. Facial texture outcomes should be evaluated separately from broad rejuvenation claims.

PRP, injections and microneedling
Blood processing produces a platelet-enriched preparation. Platelets contain signalling factors, but the presence of growth factors alone does not establish a cosmetic benefit. Injected PRP, topical use with microneedling and combinations with laser are different interventions. If filler is added, early volume change may come from filler and should not automatically be credited to PRP.

Separate satisfaction from independent ratings
In one randomized study, 19 of 27 enrolled people were analyzed. Blinded clinician ratings did not significantly distinguish PRP from saline, while some participant ratings for texture and wrinkles favoured PRP. That distinction matters: personal satisfaction is meaningful, but it does not prove improvement in every photoaging measure. Durability and the best protocol remain uncertain.

Assess the concern and health history
First establish whether the concern is movement lines, hollowness, scars or active disease; evidence for one cannot be transferred to another. Discuss platelet or bleeding disorders, anticoagulants, infection, significant medical conditions and reactions to local anaesthesia. Do not stop necessary medication yourself to qualify for a cosmetic procedure. A suspicious lesion in the treatment area needs diagnostic assessment first.

Ask about blood handling and accountability
Ask who is legally responsible for preparation and administration, how your sample is identified and how single-use equipment is managed. Authorization of processing equipment is not proof of facial efficacy. Health Canada’s 2019 notice distinguishes same-patient, single-procedure PRP practice from cell therapy; that notice should not be presented as blanket approval of rejuvenation claims.

Recovery depends on the complete procedure
Blood collection and injections can cause discomfort, bruising and swelling. When microneedling or laser is added, recovery, pigment risk and aftercare must reflect that procedure as well. Same-day appearance does not establish rejuvenation. Consistent photographs and a planned review help distinguish lasting change from swelling, lighting and expectations, particularly when several treatments have been combined.

Intact skin and treated open skin differ
For intact, dry skin, discuss gentle cleansing, fragrance-free moisturizer and sun protection. Do not add a cosmetic serum to freshly needled skin merely because it advertises growth factors; product choice and timing need clinician guidance. Open sites, drainage or persistent burning require advice. Steroid and antibiotic creams are not routine solutions for every episode of redness.

Autologous does not mean complication-free
Report increasing pain, warmth, spreading redness, drainage or fever promptly. Visual loss following a facial injection is an emergency: call 911. Case reports document ocular vascular injury after facial PRP, but cannot estimate its frequency. Breathing difficulty or marked tongue or throat swelling also requires emergency care; do not wait for a routine cosmetic follow-up.

Frequently asked questions
Is PRP a stem-cell treatment?
No. A platelet-enriched blood preparation is not the same as a cell therapy. “Regenerative” marketing should not obscure this distinction or the evidence limits.

Are before-and-after photographs enough proof?
Lighting, angle, swelling and additional procedures change appearances. Standardized photographs, independent assessment and a comparison group provide stronger evidence.

What should I ask before buying a course?
Clarify the measurable goal, evidence for the exact method, assessment date, total cost and when treatment would stop if it is not helping.

Canadian sources take priority for regulatory context. FDA or other foreign information does not establish Canadian authorization for a product or use. A source-check date is distinct from publication date or independent clinical approval.
