LANGEVIAX PROCEDURE GUIDE

Surgery / LANGEVIAX

Blepharoplasty can address surgically appropriate excess skin or eyelid bags, but eyelid droop and under-eye darkness have different causes. An eye assessment and a precise diagnosis should precede the choice of cosmetic technique.

Upper lids, lower lids and true ptosis

Upper- and lower-lid procedures have different goals. A lowered brow or weakness of the eyelid-elevating mechanism can resemble excess eyelid skin but require a different approach. Ask whether the plan addresses skin, bags or eyelid support. The word blepharoplasty alone does not explain which part of the concern the operation is intended to correct.

Appearance, function and limits

If excess skin affects the visual field, a separate functional evaluation is appropriate; a tired appearance alone does not establish impaired vision. Pigment, visible vessels and shadows from hollows are not automatically corrected by eyelid surgery. Assess results with natural expressions and both open and closed eyes. Perfect symmetry or removal of every line cannot be guaranteed.

Dry eyes and medical history

Report dry or irritated eyes, previous eye surgery, thyroid disease and difficulty closing the eyelids. The ocular surface and eyelid position need assessment; removing more skin is not necessarily better. Provide a complete medicine, supplement, allergy and contact-lens history. Active eye problems may require postponement or an ophthalmic opinion before a cosmetic decision.

Preparation and consultation questions

Confirm who performs the operation and follow-up, and how urgent problems are handled. Arrange an escort, transport, recovery time and review appointments. Ask about eye care, stitches and driving; blurred vision from ointment does not establish fitness to drive. Any prescription adjustment should be coordinated with the prescriber rather than made independently.

Appropriate products around the eyes

Use eye drops, ophthalmic ointment or compresses only according to the team’s plan; ordinary skin products are not necessarily safe in or at the eye. Keep makeup and active cosmetics away from the operated area until cleared. Sunglasses and light protection are useful. Do not conceal increasing redness or discomfort by adding multiple serums or unprescribed drops.

Vision-threatening warning signs

Sudden vision reduction, severe eye pain, rapidly increasing or tense swelling, new double vision or a bulging eye after surgery may indicate bleeding behind the eye or another serious complication. Seek emergency care immediately and notify the surgeon; do not wait for a message reply or tomorrow’s appointment. Rare complications still require a time-sensitive response.

Healing, complications and the final decision

Early bruising and swelling are expected, while persistent dryness, incomplete closure, outward turning of the lower lid, infection or troublesome scars need assessment. Final healing may take months and natural aging continues. Compare no surgery, treatment of ocular-surface problems and assessment of the cause of darkness. A promise of zero eye risk is not credible.

Frequently asked questions

Is blepharoplasty suitable for every dark circle?

No. Pigment, vessels, shadows, bags and medical causes need to be distinguished first.

Can severe pain and blurred vision wait until tomorrow?

No. Reduced vision or severe pain after eye surgery requires immediate emergency assessment.

Can I use an ordinary repair balm near the stitches?

Only if the surgeon approves; a skin product is not equivalent to an ophthalmic ointment.
