LANGEVIAX PROCEDURE GUIDE

Skin surface & scars / LANGEVIAX

Conventional microneedling uses small controlled injuries to stimulate repair. A useful decision depends on scar type, skin-barrier health and realistic goals; it is distinct from RF microneedling.

What actually changes?

A medical needling device creates small punctures; the repair response can support collagen remodelling. Pens, rollers and stamps are not interchangeable procedures. The useful target is a less noticeable appearance of selected depressed scars or uneven texture, rather than poreless skin or removal of every wrinkle. Adding heat changes this into RF microneedling, with additional considerations.

Scar type matters more than the device name

A flat post-acne mark is different from an indented scar. Deep or tethered depressions may need another approach. Active inflammatory acne, infection, keloid history and poor healing require assessment before booking. Darker skin can be treated, but previous post-inflammatory darkening deserves an individual plan; suitability across skin tones does not mean zero risk.

What to prepare before the visit

Bring medicines, supplements, current or previous isotretinoin, allergies, cold-sore history and earlier procedures. Do not independently stop prescribed treatment; ask the clinician to decide timing. Ask about single-use cartridges, infection control and experience with your skin tone. Report tanning, sunburn or irritation before the appointment and obtain written aftercare rather than relying on a product sales pitch.

Early redness and final results have different timelines

Tenderness, mild swelling, dryness and temporary colour change can last several days. In darker skin, inflammation may not look bright red. Collagen remodelling takes time; first-day swelling is not the final result. Confirm when to resume makeup, exercise, washing and another session for your actual treatment, and compare photographs using consistent lighting and angles.

Products depend on the healing stage

Immediately afterward, use only products specified in the treatment instructions; fresh punctures are not a testing ground for personal serums. Once surface closure and tolerance are confirmed, a gentle cleanser, fragrance-free moisturizer and broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher can form a simple routine. Scrubs, acids and retinoids need an agreed restart; stinging does not prove effectiveness.

When to seek assessment

Report increasing pain, heat or swelling, spreading redness, pus, fever or grouped blisters the same day. Persistent darkening, lightening or needle-track marks also need review. Severe eye symptoms or altered vision, particularly after treatment near the eyes, require urgent assessment. Do not mask a possible complication by adding a steroid, antibiotic or exfoliant yourself.

Alternatives and decision questions

Options include no procedure, acne control and scar-directed laser, subcision or other treatment. A 2026 comparison did not establish consistent superiority of needling over peels across scar outcomes. Ask which scar subtype is being targeted, the total course cost and when results will be judged. Any add-on such as PRP needs its own evidence and consent discussion.

Frequently asked questions

Does a home roller give the same result?

No. Medical treatment differs in depth and control; skin-puncturing home tools can cause infection and scars.

Section sources: AAD · Microneedling: uses, recovery and patient selection

Can any serum be used during needling?

No. Cosmetic use does not establish safety inside skin. FDA-authorized needling devices are not authorized for delivering these products into skin.

Can a photo establish my suitability?

A photo can clarify goals, but scar tethering, infection and healing suitability may require an examination.
