LANGEVIAX PROCEDURE GUIDE

Emerging approaches / LANGEVIAX

Mesotherapy is not one defined substance or a guaranteed outcome; it commonly describes superficial injections of varying mixtures. Judging a treatment requires the exact formulation, intended goal, delivery route and evidence for that particular product.

A technique label is not a treatment identity

Two services called mesotherapy may contain HA, vitamins, amino acids or entirely different ingredients. Injection, microneedling and needle-free delivery are not equivalent. Request the ingredient list, exact product, formulation and intended use. An undisclosed proprietary cocktail prevents a meaningful assessment of benefit, allergy risk and authenticity; the technique’s name cannot substitute for that information.

Why study results differ

An older six-person study of one formulation found no significant clinical or tissue improvement; that does not prove every ingredient ineffective. A 2026 randomized trial reported benefits from a defined HA/amino-acid composite versus no intervention, but an untreated control cannot separate the injection effect. Neither study validates a universal claim for any cocktail marketed as mesotherapy.

Skin quality, pigment and hair are separate goals

Hydration evidence cannot be transferred to lifting, melasma treatment or hair regrowth. Even studies of under-eye pigmentation are generally small and formulation-specific. Establish the underlying concern first: dryness, scalp disease and pattern hair loss are different diagnoses. Laboratory findings or marketing photographs cannot replace controlled comparisons and outcomes that actually matter to the person seeking care.

Label, route and authorization

A topical product is not an injectable vial, and injecting a cosmetic serum is not justified. Ask for product-specific evidence and Canadian authorization; the relevant drug identifier or device licence depends on classification. Mixing separately authorized products does not, by itself, establish the safety, stability or effectiveness of the final mixture being offered.

Preparation and simple aftercare

Disclose allergies, illnesses, medicines, pregnancy, breastfeeding and previous injections. Obtain a written plan for hygiene, activity and review. On intact skin, gentle cleansing and fragrance-free moisturizer can reduce dryness; punctured, open or infected skin requires specific instructions. Adding acids, retinoids or essential oils without clearance may increase irritation rather than improve recovery.

Do not overlook delayed infection

Nontuberculous mycobacterial infections have followed mesotherapy involving contaminated equipment or solutions. Painful nodules, abscesses or drainage that appear late or fail to heal need examination; specialist assessment and sampling may be required. Squeezing, home drainage or self-selected antibiotics can delay the diagnosis and complicate appropriate treatment. Tell the clinician what was injected and when.

What makes an informed purchase?

Before buying a package, define one goal, an assessment method and a review date. Ask whether evidence concerns this exact formulation, what the study comparator was and who manages complications. Reliable general benefit is not established for unspecified cocktails. Compare basic care, diagnosis-led treatment, an option with relevant evidence, and choosing no procedure.

Frequently asked questions

Are mesotherapy and skin boosters the same?

The labels can overlap, but formulation, route and product-specific evidence determine what is being offered.

Section sources: Multicentre RCT · Defined HA/amino-acid composite versus no intervention (2026)

Are injected vitamins necessarily better than a serum?

No. Injection adds risk, and benefit must be demonstrated for the exact formulation and use.

Section sources: Prospective study · Mesotherapy histological evaluation, six participants (2012) · Outbreak investigation · Mesotherapy-related nontuberculous mycobacterial infections (2009)

Do painful bumps weeks later matter?

Yes. Delayed infection is possible; seek examination rather than attempting drainage yourself.
